Donation Policy

DRAFT — under legal review. Not yet finalized for publication.

Swastify Foundation is a registered Section 8 Not-for-Profit Company committed to transparent and responsible use of donor contributions in furtherance of our mission — building preventive healthcare programs for children, adults, and expecting mothers across India.

1. Purpose of Donations

Donations made through swastify.org directly support the development, operation, and expansion of our programs, including Qavach® (preventive screening for children aged 2-5) and future initiatives such as PranIQ and MathrIQ.

2. Eligibility to Donate — Indian Donors Only

Swastify Foundation currently accepts donations only from Indian citizens and Indian-registered entities, made in Indian Rupees (INR). We are not registered under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 (FCRA) and do not intend to seek FCRA registration at this time. As a result, we are unable to accept donations from foreign nationals, foreign entities, or contributions originating outside India, in accordance with applicable Indian law.

3. Tax Benefits

Swastify Foundation is currently in the process of obtaining registration under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Until this registration is granted, donations made to Swastify Foundation are not eligible for tax deduction. We will update this policy and notify donors once 80G registration is confirmed.

4. Payment Methods

Donations can be made securely through our website via [Razorpay / listed payment methods], available to Indian payment instruments only.

5. Donation Receipts

A receipt will be issued for every successful donation, sent to the email address provided at the time of donation. This receipt does not currently confer tax-deductibility (see Section 3).

6. Use of Funds

Donated funds are used to support Swastify Foundation’s programmatic, operational, and administrative needs as determined by the Foundation’s leadership, in line with our stated mission.

7. Refunds on Donations

Donations to Swastify Foundation are voluntary contributions in support of our mission, and are not refundable, including in cases of change of mind or reconsideration after the donation is made.

As a not-for-profit, the funds we raise — including any surplus generated across our programs — go directly toward expanding access to preventive healthcare, including subsidized and free screenings for underprivileged children who could not otherwise afford them. Reversing a donation after it has been made and allocated undermines that purpose.

The only exceptions are technical or processing errors that are not a matter of donor discretion:

  • Duplicate transactions — you were charged more than once for the same donation due to a technical error
  • Erroneous transactions — an incorrect amount was charged due to a system or processing error
  • Unauthorized transactions — a donation was made without your authorization

To request a correction under these circumstances, contact [email address] within 7 days of the transaction, providing your transaction ID, date, amount, and reason. Approved corrections will be processed within [X business days] to the original payment method.

8. Donor Privacy

Personal and payment information provided during the donation process is handled in accordance with our [Privacy Statement link]. We do not sell or share donor information with third parties for marketing purposes.
